Day3: Stalin Shot

Fort Worth downtown on a hot summer afternoon. Its hot and its Texas.

Big hats, big buckle belts and horses. They are not cowboys they are Fort Worth downtown cops. I would like to appreciate Neophyte for his high spirits after disappointing start with his digicam.

Is that Neophyte in the first picture? I see a camera and it's a Fuji

I love that sky and the vivid colors in the first pic.

The horse-mounted police pic has some nice feeling of depth but seems to be missing something - there are plenty of lines along the thirds so it's not that.

Couldn't have brightened the cops without washing the background out (note the sky's already whitening).

An interesting subpicture, or crop, is a vertical band including the whole horse on the left, and that background traffic light for Commerce street. It would isolate a lot of interesting vertical elements like the hydrant, the traffic light frame, the tall horses, people, building side etc.

However for that kind of shot, getting perfectly vertical lines would also help. Wonder if they'd cite you for jaywalking or loitering on the crosswalk as you try to get that picture.
