The flower shot, on close examination, is kind of fuzzy because of the wafer-thin depth of focus. Trying this with a the next f-stop or so might have kept the entire flower in focus while still painting the background with the beautiful green. Also, it might be a tad overexposed, causing a bit of washout in the flower.

Nice picture - not sure if the situation allowed it, but I'd have tried to take another shot filling the entire frame with the bricks and keeping maybe a window somewhere just as a focal point. Would make great wallpaper too. Could we see a close-up crop of the bricks from the orginal 6MP picture? The downscaling is losing the brick texture with the added noise.
